FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold">Dirección General de Patrimonio Cultural de <st1:PersonName w:st="on" ProductID="la Junta">la Junta</st1:PersonName> de Castilla y León<B>, </B></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold">al Servicio Territorial de Cultura de Ávila, así<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>como al Ayuntamiento solicitando que se tomen medidas que detengan el continuo y progresivo deterioro de los edificios que forman el antiguo colegio de Santiago, en concreto la iglesia de san Nicolás de Bari y el inmueble que albergaba el centro de estudios de latinidad y gramática de <st1:PersonName w:st="on" ProductID="la Compa?￭a">la Compañía</st1:PersonName> de Jesús, ante su más que probable inminente ruina y se considere, por ser perfectamente realizable, la posibilidad de elaborar un proyecto para la recuperación integral del conjunto que permita en un futuro próximo disponer de una Escuela de Estudios del Arte Mudéjar en Arévalo, además de instalaciones para poder impartir otra gran variedad de enseñanzas, así como diversas actividades culturales y educativas.</SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><o:p></o:p></SPAN> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 6pt 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Para ello, desde la asociación se ha elaborado una propuesta con el fin de recuperar el templo y el resto de la edificación como centro de estudios de distintas disciplinas y biblioteca, con lo cual, la primera exigencia: el mantener la dignidad del antiguo templo, se cumpliría, recuperando además, la finalidad fundamental para lo que fue fundado y que mantuvo en vigor hasta bien entrado el pasado siglo XX. <o:p></o:p></SPAN> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 6pt 0cm 0pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">de muchos de los naturales de Arévalo y de su entorno comarcal de que la iglesia de San Nicolás de Bari no termine derruida por completo, por lo que esta asociación cultural promovió a partir del mes de agosto de 2008 una campaña que pretendía que tanto el templo como los restos del antiguo colegio fueran reconocidos y entraran a formar parte de la llamada Lista Roja del Patrimonio que promueve la asociación Hispania Nostra, petición que fue aceptada y ya la iglesia aparecía en el listado en octubre de 2008.
