If you want the historical city you go away to the center, which is completely filled with Victorian and Eduardianos gardens and streets where it is a Neogothic Castle and civil neoclassic buildings, amen of shopping centers - the most ancient is <STRONG>The Royal Arcade</STRONG> of 1856- and one covered market that dates back from the XIXth century.</EM></DIV> <DIV><EM> Otherwise, if you are looking for the modern city, you cross towards the south to meet the Port where they come together: the <STRONG>Wales Millenium Centre</STRONG>, the <STRONG>Welsh National´s headquarter</STRONG>; the <STRONG>Techniquest</STRONG>, or <STRONG>Science´s Museum</STRONG>; the <STRONG>BayArt Gallery</STRONG>, with exhibitions and sale of manufactured local products; or the <STRONG>Cardiff Bay Visitors' Centre</STRONG>. </EM></DIV><EM> <DIV>But in every end there are compensatory elements. This way, in the historical center the balance takes place with the modern <STRONG>Millennium Stadium</STRONG>, headquarter of the Welsh rugby team and where <STRONG>Madonna</STRONG> has initiated her world tour. In the bay, the compensatory element, is the <STRONG>Norwegian Church</STRONG> made of wood, and raised in 1868 for the Norman sailors who were bringing material to the coal mines of the south of Wales.</DIV> <DIV>When we were there there was a trade fair in the bay with products degustations of several places around the world. There I discovered what I had never tried before: the Welshman cheddar cheese incrusted with bits of raspberry. To die of the taste!!! We also bought a few bottles of the traditional cider elaborates in the in <STRONG>Ralph's Cider local farms</STRONG>. </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Cardiff ´s Castle</STRONG> First at all it was a Roman fortress, which remains are separated today from the modern part of the castle by one red stone wall. Its hits are: - The <STRONG>Roman Thermal baths</STRONG> with the flowing warm only ones of Great Britain - 46 º-, that Romans constructed at 44 A.D.to turn it into the best religious resort of Europa's north. Curiously, in this great complex formed by a temple - dedicated to the goddesses Suli and Minerva - and the baths - with swimming pools, saunas and water steam - circulates warm natural water yet. In a indoor and underground visit - under the cemetery of Bath's own abbey - it is possible to contemplate the archaeological remains of such a jewel. - In the VIth century there came to the city the <STRONG>Saxons</STRONG> who desiccated the baths to construct to the side a great cathedral that two centuries later would turn into a beautiful <STRONG>abbey</STRONG> that took its definitive body in the XVIth century and that still lasts, containing numerous exchequers of which I stand out, the angels of the front that rise to the sky through Jacob's stairs – I´ve never seen anything like that-. - The <STRONG>Royal Crescent</STRONG> is other of Bath´s attraction. It´s considered the most majestic street of the country, of the XVIIIth century. - The <STRONG>bridge Pulteney</STRONG> with shops to the sides, - The <STRONG>Parade Gardens</STRONG> - you have to pay to enter this park!!! - - And theirs streets ... you fill completely of malls and shops, as <STRONG>Faith</STRONG> where my daughter bought herself these wonderful shoes for 5 pounds - the only couple and it was her size-. I also was lucky, and on having come to <STRONG>Madrid</STRONG> found in <STRONG>Top Shop</STRONG> these beautiful shoes for 23 euros - they were costing 60 pounds in England's shops-. - Besides, the city was replete with <STRONG>piglets</STRONG> of colors dedicated to different groups of the city. - And another curiosity, <STRONG>Jane Austen</STRONG> - the writer buried at Winchester's Cathedral - was assiduous of this city... there must be a reason.
